Eric J Cater FCIS, FCT, Non Executive Chairman
Eric Cater is a Chartered Secretary and Corporate Treasurer. He has extensive experience as a Company Secretary, Finance Director and Chairman of publicly quoted companies. He has also been involved in private equity and was a founder partner of Alchemy Partners. During the last twenty years, he has been involved in company turnarounds, corporate finance, including flotations, and as a non-executive director of several companies.
Simon Hood, Chief Executive
Chief Executive of Hood Group, PlusOne Services, Select & Protect and PlusOne Insurance Solutions.
The Hood Group is privately owned and has evolved from the original company set up in 1983 in the City of London by Bernard Hood, Simon’s father.
After a number of years working as an estate agent Simon joined the company in 1989 to head up sales & marketing. He took over running the business in 1997 and is now Chief Executive of Hood Group, PlusOne Services, Select & Protect and PlusOne Insurance Solutions.
Simon is also a partner in a restaurant/bar/supperclub in Brick Lane called ‘The Brickhouse’
Simon lives in Woodford Green with his partner Lucie and 2 sons Toby and Ben. He is a keen traveller and keen fitness fanatic.
James Wallis, Managing Director
After a brief period teaching, James began his commercial life in 1986 working in a variety of management roles for a national chain of estate agents. He joined Select & Protect in 1994, progressing to Sales and Marketing Director. In 2002 he helped establish PlusOne as a separate business in its own right, taking on the role of Managing Director.
Bob Bruce, I.T. Director
After serving for 25 years with Essex Police in various operational roles Bob joined the IT Department in Chelmsford and worked on a number of projects both regional and national as part of the national strategy to improve police technology systems.
Following his retirement in 2001 he worked as a self employed IT Consultant offering services to small businesses in Essex.
In 2004 he joined Plusone Services with overall responsibility for IT and in 2007 Bob joined the Board of Plusone and now has responsibility for both IT and Projects.
